"I don't know, Colin. I just found out yesterday myself. Ezra's been in Spokane for three months now. He's probably met someone else and is happy with them. Do I really want to burden him with the fact that I managed to get myself knocked up?"

Colin smiled at me patiently. "First, yes. You need to tell him, and knowing Ez, it won't be a burden. He'll be excited to find out he's going to be a father. And secondly, you didn't knock yourself up, Hank."

"I kind of did, though. I assured him that my new birth control would be working. The best I can figure is that I'd been fighting a cold that week. We all know that the meds we take for that screw with birth control, yet it never entered my mind. How can it be anything other than my fault? If I hadn't assured him it was safe, he'd have used protection."
